About LWC Karate
An authentic karate dojo in Fayetteville, NY, teaching world-class values for more than 30 years.
An authentic karate dojo
For more than 30 years, Central New Yorkers have studied and practiced authentic karate at our Fayetteville dojo. Every student practices both traditional Japanese Shotokan and Okinawan Gōjū-ryū karate, taught as they have been for generations.
Under the guidance of Hanshi (Master) Rande Lawrence, students of all ages and abilities come together to learn self-defense, improve fitness, and grow in mental and physical strength. Discipline, courtesy, and respect are the cornerstone of the dojo and of Hanshi Lawrence's teaching.
In 2026 we moved into a new, purpose-built dojo at 6859 East Genesee Street, in the same plaza as Visionworks, so every student can train together on a single floor.

Courtesy. Respect. World-class values.
Courtesy
Every class opens with the question "Karate begins with?" and every student, whatever their age or belt, answers "courtesy and respect."
Respect
For every student's age, level, and pace. Students don't compete against each other. They compete against themselves and are encouraged to do their personal best.
World-class values
Discipline, focus, and inner strength that students carry into school, work, and home. A black belt is a white belt that never gave up.
